Written in 1934 in the UK, first performed by Stanley Holloway. It tells the story of Anne Boleyn’s ghost coming back from the Tower of London to haunt King Henry VIII and seek revenge on him for having her beheaded. It was released in the States in 1937 by Rudy Vallee’s orchestra with vocal by Cyril Smith. My kids love this song. It’s a lot of fun and also a little bit scary, so that adds to the enjoyment.
