There are literally hundreds of train songs, maybe thousands, and most of them are based on true incidents (see The Wreck of the Old 97). However, this one is different. It was composed in 1927 and tells the tragic but beautiful story of an engineer who was due to be married the next day but never came back because he was in a train wreck.
